Abbath Formed in 2015 in Bergen, Norway, Abbath is the eponymous project of legendary frontman Olve Eikemo, following his departure from Immortal. Building on decades of genre-defining work, Abbath quickly established itself as a formidable force in modern black metal, blending icy atmospheres with a driving, rock-infused edge.
The band’s discography—Abbath (2016), Outstrider (2019) and Dread Reaver (2022)—captures this evolution, combining ferocity with melody while retaining the raw spirit of the Norwegian scene. Known for his unmistakable rasp, thunderous riffs and commanding stage presence, Abbath remains one of extreme metal’s most charismatic performers, equally revered for his musicianship and larger-than-life persona.
Currently featuring Abbath alongside drummer Ukri Suvilehto and bassist Raud, the band continues to tour internationally, often revisiting classic material from Abbath’s Immortal era while pushing forward with new compositions. Recent tours, including the ongoing “Return to the Raven Realms” shows, highlight both his enduring legacy and his continued relevance on the global metal stage.
