BLIND WITNESS

Bio:
Blind WitnessBlind Witness was formed in 2006 by vocalist Jonathan Cabana in a small town called Granby Quebec, which is located about an hour southeast of Montreal. Cabana sites a wide range of musical influences including Meshuggah, All Shall Perish, and Parkway Drive. He quickly recruited a group of friends with common tastes and began crafting a unique brand of crushing metalcore/deathmetal that Blind Witness has become known for. The band swiftly stormed the Montreal metal scene with a vengeance. After a few line-up changes, Blind Witness began to show up on the industry radar. In 2007, they were picked up by Victory/Torque Records and released their first full-length album entitled “Silences Are Words” shortly thereafter. They soon earned a reputation for being one of the hardest working bands in Canada. They kept up a relentless touring schedule delivering face-melting shows night after night, and even in the face of adversity, they always persevered.
The Blind Witness writing process is very stringent. They structure the songs on a laptop and after listening countless times, bring the songs to practice and refine them even more. If you have ever listened to a Blind Witness album, it clearly shows. It was this process that led to the writing of a second record and eventually the signing of the band to heavy music kingpin, Mediaskare Records in 2009. Blind Witness songs are known for being very sincere and authentic. The band’s latest effort is a concept record, and very personal family issues that Jonathan Cabana had been through in his life fueled much of the songwriting. The band recently released their second crushing album entitled “Nightmare On Providence Street.” If you are a metal fan, this record will change your life.
Blind Witness has toured extensively throughout Canada and The United States with major acts such as Despised Icon, Carnifex, The Acacia Strain, Beneath The Massacre, Suffokate, and Sea Of Treachery. The band’s major goal is to travel the world, meet as many people as they can, and make sure that everyone knows about their band. They have stated that their fans are their life’s blood and mean everything to them. Due to their amazing live show and insane work ethic, Blind Witness has developed a very loyal following that continues to grow at an alarming rate. The band’s current roster is the strongest that it has ever been and includes Eric Morotti on drums, Maxime Lacroix and Jon Campbell on guitar, and Miguel Lepage on bass. With several forth-coming tours slated and a new record in place, Blind Witness is poised to take over the world one city at a time.
