Boris Formed in Tokyo in 1992, Boris have spent more than three decades redefining what heavy music can be. Built around the unmistakable core of Atsuo, Wata and Takeshi, the Japanese group has created one of the most adventurous and unpredictable catalogues in underground music, moving freely between doom, sludge, drone, noise, psychedelia, shoegaze and experimental rock.
From landmark releases such as Amplifier Worship, Akuma no Uta, Pink and Flood to countless collaborations and radical stylistic transformations, Boris have never allowed themselves to be confined by genre. Their music can be crushingly loud and riff-driven one moment, hypnotic and atmospheric the next.
Still relentlessly active, Boris continue to evolve in 2026, releasing new material and bringing their monumental sound to stages around the world. In their universe, heaviness is not a genre—it is an endless spectrum.
