Formed back in ‘95, Keep Of Kalessin has continuously kept pushing the boundaries of extreme metal. Even though the band never really made a big commercial breakthrough, they have always recieved high acclaim from other bands and media due to their highly technical, diverse and unique style of metal.
Main man, singer and guitarist Obsidian C. is no commoner in the metal scene as he has performed as a live guitarist for Satyricon from 2003 to 2007 and is among very few guitarists that has played with many famous stars in the extreme metal community like Satyricon, Nocturno Culto (Darkthrone headliner show at Wacken Open Air 2004) and Attila Csihar (Mayhem) among others.
With the release of their album ARMADA in 2007, the band took a step into the elite of norwegian metal and recieved top ratings all over the world and in 2010 the band again shocked the metalworld by entering into the Eurovision Song Contest in Norway where they reached 3rd place and went into the mainstream of the norwegian music scene.
The highly successful album REPTILIAN was released in June 2010 and reached as far as #2 on the norwegian national charts and is still considered as one of the band’s most successful albums together with ARMADA, KOLOSSUS and their latest release EPISTEMOLOGY.
