SOUPSHOP

Bio:
SoupshopSoupshop is not your average punk band. Soupshop is not anyone's average punk band for that matter.
Named after a little place in Greece, on Crete to be precise, where they serve you some greasy goat soup at 4 in the morning to save you from a hangover the next day. Dino was kind of a regular there (well, who would have guessed...) on one of his vacations and decided that it would be a cool name for a band.
Making noise since the late 90ies the band has constantly been on tour from the very start, had to deal with burnt out tour vans, engine fires, almost wrecked testicles (Tom is still able to have kids though ;-)) constant changes in line-up and lots of other mishaps - but is still going strong (right now probably stronger than ever) and will kick ass at live shows each and every time!
Past live show highlights include gigs at the Pepsi Sziget, the Donauinselfest in Vienna (Europe's largest open air festival) and a show one of the largest demonstrations against the Austrian government at Vienna's Ballhausplatz in February 2002 in front of a crowd of 5,000 people. Recently Soupshop toured in Denmark for the first time, also rocking the Copenhage Ska Convention with great bands like The Bustups and The Aggrolites.
The five skunks played far over 100 shows in 6 countries so far: Austria, Germany, Hungary, the Czech Republic (Prague rocks!), Slovakia and Denmark - more countries to be added to this list soon!
Now you may be asking yourself - What the §$§/" is "skunk rock"? Well, to make a short story long, it's the five-piece's very own definition of their musical style. A powerful, yet melodic blend of all sorts of styles, ranging from punk to ska, from rock to reggae and sometimes even stretching as far as country & western influences.
