THE DYING

Bio:
The Dying2000 | THE DYING... A five piece Thrashmetal unit, hailing from the north-east part of Belgium called Limburg saw the light of day under the name "Chimaera". Twelve months after their formation they recorded a self titled mini album, that got a lot of nice reactions and the band started to play more and more shows...
2003 | Chimaera's hard work was finally rewarded.
The band made a record deal with 'Genet Records' to release their first full length album 'Passion Sets The Killing'...
The album was a blast and got good reactions all over Europe. Because of their excellent live reputation 'Chimaera' kept playing shows like crazy. A short tour with 'Darkest Hour', some minitours in the UK and Germany and a first European tour transformed 'Chimaera' into a well oiled killing machine.
2005 | During the months March, April and May 'Chimaera' did the recordings of their second full album called 'Stygian' ...
The expectations for this new record were huge. That's why 'Chimaera' decided to work with a producer. 'Xavier Carion', the former riffmeister of Belgium's heaviest and most successfull band in history 'Channel Zero' was the chosen one.
'Chimaera' also realised that the album, once it was recorded, had to get properly mixed and mastered. Therefor they went to the famous 'Fredman studio' in Göteborg (Sweden) where 'Frederik Nordström' (Dimmu Borgir, In Flames, Arch enemy, The Haunted, Darkest hour, At The Gates, Hammerfall, Opeth, Soilwork...) did the mixing. 'Goran Finnberg' was responsible for the mastering and the finishing touch of the album.
Once again the album was well received in the hardcore and metal scene. A Second European tour (from UK to Poland and from Estonia to Spain!!) and many new shows were planned to convince the world once again of Chimaera's astonishing live performance.
'Chimaera' also played at the famous Graspop Metal Meeting and Pukkelpop festival, two of the biggest open air festivals in Belgium! They also were support-act for bands like 'Avenged Sevenfold', 'Himsa', '3 Inches Of Blood' and 'The Black Dahlia Murder'.
2006 | 'Chimaera' decided to change their name into 'THE DYING' because it was too similar to the American 'Chimaira' and it became confusing for a lot of people...
At the end of that year 'THE DYING' was support-act for legendary Thrash heroes 'Exodus'. On that show 'THE DYING' released a 3-song promo-album called 'Jesus The Judas'.
THE DYING was looking for a new home to release a new full length album so 'Jesus The Judas' was send out to some record labels...
2007 | THE DYING got signed by EyeSpy Records for the release of the Full Album where they were working on...
The release was scheduled for January 2008...
2008 | THE DYING's first full length album 'Triumph of Tragedy' was released on january 26th by Eyespyrecords.
With this album they completely managed to translate their furious vibe to a record. 11 skull crushing neo-thrashmetal songs that will blow your filthiest nightmares into oblivion!
Shredding guitars, raging drums and aggressive vocals are 'Triumph Of Tragedy's ' main ingredients.
An excellent bite for fans of Slayer, Exodus, Kreator and Testament, combined with the legendary Göteborg style of At The Gates and the straight to the point metal of Pantera.
In october , 'THE DYING' also got signed by Drakkar Entertainment for a European rerelease of 'Triumph Of Tragedy'.
The album will be rereleased on december 5th, followed by a promotional tour that starts in Spain, and will continue in 2009.
Before heading out all over Europe, 'THE DYING' got the honour to be Belgian support-act for 'The Unholy Alliance Chapter III'
Together with Amon Amarth, Mastodon, Trivium and Thrash Godfather 'SLAYER' they performed at the 'Lotto Arena' in Antwerp...
Next to thrashing stages all over Europe, the band is also working hard on new headbang-material, so they can take the next step to total destruction... again one step closer to world domination!!
2009 | ... writing new Headbang-Thrash-Grooves & European tour is coming up...
